National and International Programs

CANADIAN DUAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

Students participating in the program can complete the Canadian Dual High School Diploma as a result of their success in English and Mathematics classes in accordance with the Canadian curriculum, which they will attend after school for four years, starting from the 9th grade, and to be applied at the end of each year. The main advantage of the Canadian Dual Degree Program is that international universities, especially those in Canada, open their doors to students.


BTEC

Implemented only and for the first time at TED schools at the k12 level in Turkey, BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) is an international vocational training programme accredited by Pearson. Its aim is to support the existing education system with a practice-oriented, useful and lively modern education model.

With their equivalence accepted by Edexel, the largest accreditation agency of the UK, in accessing internationally acknowledged professions and entering universities abroad, the BTEC programmes aim to enable students to develop the skills they need in transitioning to higher education and the competences relevant to the professions of their dreams. BTEC programmes are designed in compliance with the needs of the business world and of our age and are accepted by universities in Europe, USA, Asia, and Australia. BTEC provides internationally acknowledged vocational proficiency certificates in relevant fields. These certificates are structured in levels and credits aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The BTEC programme is implemented starting from the 7th grade at our school.


STEM

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education is an educational approach that includes teaching basic sciences such as science and mathematics by integrating with the application possibilities provided by engineering and technology and covers all levels from preschool to higher education. An interdisciplinary learning is provided with STEM education.

STEM education aims to progress economically and to raise creative, productive leaders equipped with 21st century skills who have reached the information and information age. Our school, which aims to raise individuals who ask questions, question, define problems, think innovatively, have entrepreneurial spirit, have lifelong learning skills and are sensitive to society, also supports this goal with STEM approach.

MUN

Model United Nations (MUN) studies are conducted to ensure that our students are informed about important world issues and can find realistic solutions to these issues through research, discussion, and writing. Students participating in MUN studies work by researching world issues such as global warming, lost rainforests, poverty in developing countries. Since the official language is English, the MUN program provides the opportunity to use the language skills they have acquired in extremely high level subjects.

Our students are preparing for MUN conferences held both at home and abroad every year. At these conferences, students defend the views and interests of the country they represent on a predetermined subject as the representative of a predetermined country in the United Nations. In these conferences, where all official jargon and procedures in United Nations sessions are mandatory, students talk, listen, and write about the information they obtain as a result of the research and have the opportunity to play a role in relation to the positions they represent. Thanks to the Model United Nations program carried out with the support of the United Nations, students have the opportunity to meet many new people from Turkey and the world and to get to know new cultures while being informed about international issues.

NOVA SCOTIA STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

In the framework of the agreement signed between TED Schools and Canada Nova Scotia Ministry of Education, students of TED Bodrum College are entitled to take part in the intercultural student exchange programme, have their equivalence recognised, and move on in their education at the upper class.

The programme aims to provide students, their families, and host families with opportunities to deepen their understanding of and respect for different cultures and to discover the realities of man and to offer students a chance to attain a good level in English and to attend the university abroad.

Nova Scotia Exchange Programme offers three different temporal choices to students between the 7th and 12th Grades, i.e. “Academic Month Programme”, “Single-Semester Student Exchange Programme”, and “Full-Year Student Exchange Programme”.

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROJECT STUDIES (GREEN PROJECT, BAYER, ROJKO, TUBITAK ETC.)

In our school, it is aimed that our students participate in the project preparation process with their innovative ideas in the fields of environment, mathematics, science, and social sciences. Our teachers encourage our students to take part in national and international project competitions and festivals such as TUBITAK, ROJKO, GREEN PROJECT. In addition, our school allows our students to express themselves in national and international platforms by directing our students to Olympic competitions in mathematics and basic sciences such as THE CANADIAN WATERLOO Mathematics Competition and the i-Geography Olympics.

AP (ADVANCED PLACEMENT)


The AP is a global academic program implemented in high school-level schools in more than 100 countries around the world. AP achievements, students at more than 600 universities in more than 100 countries; It enables them to gain priority at the admission stage, obtain university credits and be exempted from some courses.

The exams of the program, which consists of 34 courses at the university level in the disciplines of science, mathematics, history, social sciences, arts and world languages, are administered in May every year. Exams are prepared and scored by university lecturers.

AP courses are given in AP classes starting from the 11th grade according to the curriculum determined by the College Board.

Oxford AQA GCSE

The stakeholder of the Oxford AQA GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) program is Oxford University, one of the most prestigious universities in England and the world. A good grade (C and above) on the Oxford AQA GCSE; It is accepted as proof of proficiency in the English language by almost all universities in England, the United States, Canada and Australia. In addition, it facilitates the admission of our students to foreign universities, as they have completed an international program and received a certificate.

Oxford AQA GCSE exams are taken in over 100 countries around the world and are accepted by higher education institutions and employers as proof of academic achievement.

Students who have completed the General Certificate of Secondary Education program, which is applied in the 9th and 10th grades at TED Bodrum College Private Anatolian High School and lasts for two years, can document their English proficiency level with international validity by taking the final exams from the UK.

SCIENTIST TRAINING PROGRAMME

Aiming to train students that have a researching soul in the fields of physical and social sciences, have embraced scientific thinking, and have embraced these characteristics as a way of life, the “Scientist Training Programme” was initiated at TED schools as a first in Turkey along with the approval of the Council of Education and Morality.

The “Scientist Training Programme” is a process where students with high academic success are trained with an educational understanding enriched in terms of training and education studies, based on practice and productivity, and focused on the cooperation between the school and universities.

As an advanced form of the curriculum applied at science high schools, this programme aims to train curious, sceptical, inquiring, researching and producing individuals who place importance on scientific thinking.

This programme requires every enrolling student to prepare a project that is worthy of entering the Project Competition organised by TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). On the other hand, these students are also prepared for the Science Olympics organised by TUBITAK in any field of their choosing. Furthermore, students enrolled in this programme are encouraged to enter any project competition organised in Turkey or abroad.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT STUDIES

With the academic support studies applied in our school, it is aimed to carry the current academic performances of our students in foreign language and basic courses further.

For this purpose, the main ones from many studies in our school are as follows:

- Supportive studies to increase the success of our students with limited and advanced competence areas in school education
- Support studies for students with limited and advanced language skills
- Weekday and weekend surveys and reinforcement studies for university exam preparation processes
- Research and evaluations on factors affecting school success and scientific studies in this field

The program supports all activities and approaches that will serve the purpose of the program together with special preparatory courses for school courses and exams.

LIFE EXPERIENCE PROGRAM

In the Life Experience Program planned for secondary school students, it is aimed that students gain experience in all kinds of business from small tradesmen (tailors, restaurants, stationery, etc.) to large service or production areas. The purpose of the program, which is implemented in two-week periods in the summer months, is to help our students prepare for real life in a way that they are effective individuals of the modern world.

The program is coordinated by TED Bodrum College Psychological Counselling and Guidance Service. Students record day by day what they experience in the "Experience Book"; workplaces fill out the form related to the student's performance at the end of the program. During the process, our program managers visit the workplaces where our students experience. Studies are archived and used as important data in the life preparation adventure of our students.

The program is carried out jointly with Bodrum Association of Tradesmen and Businessmen (BESIAD).

ECO-SCHOOLS PROGRAM

The Eco-Schools Program is a program implemented to provide environmental awareness, environmental management, and sustainable development education in schools. With the participatory approach, students acquire information about environmental issues and take an active role in raising awareness of their families, local governments and non-governmental organizations about environmental issues.

In addition to providing a guiding program for environmental education to schools, the Eco-Schools Program also has the feature of being a reward plan for giving Green Flag prizes to schools that have achieved outstanding success in their studies and environmental education. The Green Flag is an eco-label that symbolizes an internationally recognized and respected, environmentally friendly school. Our school proudly waves the Green Flag it is entitled to receive with its applications.


NUTRITION-FRIENDLY SCHOOL

With the “Nutrition-Friendly School Project", it is aimed to increase awareness on healthy nutrition and moving life in schools and to improve school health by supporting good practices in this regard.

Our school aims to raise awareness and sensitivity about healthy and balanced nutrition throughout life and adopts as a basic principle to carry out studies that support the prevention of obesity by encouraging our students to live in motion.

WHITE FLAG

Based on certain criteria in terms of cleaning and hygiene, our school was awarded with "White Flag and Certificate”, which meets the necessary criteria in the project implemented to supervise schools in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Education and to encourage them to improve school health.

PORTFOLIO PRESENTATIONS

In our school, student-parent-teacher interviews (portfolio presentations) are held twice a year, once in every semester. In portfolio presentations, students explain their work to their families throughout the semester and thus have the opportunity to take responsibility for their development. The portfolio works that our students will carry out throughout their academic life are also an important archive in the process of admission to foreign universities.

CONSULTING SYSTEM

The purpose of the Counselling System we apply at secondary and high school levels is to play a preventive role in order to prevent the problem-free areas of the student from becoming a problem and to play a guiding role in situations of instability caused by excess of options. In addition, while providing programmatic support for our students to set forward goals and achieve these goals, we also follow their developments in physical, emotional, social, and academic fields and become a part of the solution to the problems they experience. The fact that each mentor is responsible for a small number of students contributes positively to the success of the system.
