Applications and Projects

DICTATION EDUCATION

Diction deals with the breath taken before the speech, the sounds created by the breath and the words formed by articulating these sounds, that is, shaping them in the mouth. In addition, the intonations and accents made to decorate and make more sense of speech are also the study area of diction.

In beautiful and effective speech, diction, that is, making sounds correctly, is extremely important. With diction education, our students learn the phonetics of their own language in the most accurate way while making it a skill to use them. It is aimed that they can use stops, transportation, and accents correctly.

BTEC

Implemented only and for the first time at TED schools at the k12 level in Turkey, BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) is an international vocational training programme accredited by Pearson. Its aim is to support the existing education system with a practice-oriented, useful and lively modern education model.

With their equivalence accepted by Edexel, the largest accreditation agency of the UK, in accessing internationally acknowledged professions and entering universities abroad, the BTEC programmes aim to enable students to develop the skills they need in transitioning to higher education and the competences relevant to the professions of their dreams. BTEC programmes are designed in compliance with the needs of the business world and of our age and are accepted by universities in Europe, USA, Asia, and Australia. BTEC provides internationally acknowledged vocational proficiency certificates in relevant fields. These certificates are structured in levels and credits aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The BTEC programme is implemented starting from the 7th grade at our school.

STEM

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education is an educational approach that includes teaching basic sciences such as science and mathematics by integrating with the application possibilities provided by engineering and technology and covers all levels from preschool to higher education. An interdisciplinary learning is provided with STEM education.

STEM education aims to progress economically and to raise creative, productive leaders equipped with 21st century skills who have reached the information and information age. Our school, which aims to raise individuals who ask questions, question, define problems, think innovatively, have entrepreneurial spirit, have lifelong learning skills and are sensitive to society, also supports this goal with STEM approach.

JMUN

Model United Nations (MUN) studies are conducted to ensure that our students are informed about important world issues and can find realistic solutions to these issues through research, discussion, and writing. Students participating in MUN studies work by researching world issues such as global warming, lost rainforests, poverty in developing countries.

Since the official language is English, the MUN program provides the opportunity to use the language skills they have acquired in extremely high-level subjects.

Our students are preparing for MUN conferences held both at home and abroad every year. At these conferences, students defend the views and interests of the country they represent on a predetermined subject as the representative of a predetermined country in the United Nations.

In these conferences, where all official jargon and procedures in United Nations sessions are mandatory, students talk, listen and write about the information they obtain as a result of the research and have the opportunity to play a role in relation to the positions they represent.

Thanks to the Model United Nations program carried out with the support of the United Nations, students have the opportunity to meet many new people from Turkey and the world and to get to know new cultures while being informed about international issues.

JMUN (Junior MUN) takes place with the participation of groups of secondary school students between the ages of 11-14.

In addition, our school allows our students to express themselves in national and international platforms by directing our students to Olympic competitions in mathematics and basic sciences such as THE CANADIAN WATERLOO Mathematics Competition and the i-Geography Olympics.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT STUDIES

With the academic support studies applied in our school, it is aimed to carry the current academic performances of our students in foreign language and basic courses further.

For this purpose, the main studies conducted in our school are as follows:
- Supportive studies to increase the success of our students with limited and advanced competence areas in school education
- Support studies for students with limited and advanced language skills
- Weekday and weekend surveys and reinforcement studies for LGS preparation processes
- Research and evaluations on factors affecting school success and scientific studies in this field

Within the scope of the program, all activities and approaches that will serve the purpose of the program together with special preparatory courses for school courses and exams are supported.

LIFE EXPERIENCE PROGRAM

In the Life Experience Program planned for secondary school students, it is aimed that students gain experience in all kinds of business from small tradesmen (tailors, restaurants, stationery, etc.) to large service or production areas. The purpose of the program, which is implemented in two-week periods in the summer months, is to help our students prepare for real life in a way that they are effective individuals of the modern world.

The program is coordinated by TED Bodrum College Psychological Counselling and Guidance Service. Students record day by day what they experience in the "Experience Book"; workplaces fill out the form related to the student's performance at the end of the program. During the process, our program managers visit the workplaces where our students experience. Studies are archived and used as important data in the life preparation adventure of our students.

The program is carried out jointly with Bodrum Association of Tradesmen and Businessmen (BESIAD).

ECO-SCHOOLS PROGRAM

The Eco-Schools Program is a program implemented to provide environmental awareness, environmental management, and sustainable development education in schools. With the participatory approach, students acquire information about environmental issues and take an active role in raising awareness of their families, local governments and non-governmental organizations about environmental issues.

In addition to providing a guiding program for environmental education to schools, the Eco-Schools Program also has the feature of being a reward plan for giving Green Flag prizes to schools that have achieved outstanding success in their studies and environmental education. The Green Flag is an eco-label that symbolizes an internationally recognized and respected, environmentally friendly school. Our school proudly waves the Green Flag it is entitled to receive with its applications.

NUTRITION-FRIENDLY SCHOOL

With the “Nutrition-Friendly School Project", it is aimed to increase awareness on healthy nutrition and moving life in schools and to improve school health by supporting good practices in this regard.

Our school aims to raise awareness and sensitivity about healthy and balanced nutrition throughout life and adopts as a basic principle to carry out studies that support the prevention of obesity by encouraging our students to live in motion.

PORTFOLIO PRESENTATIONS

In our school, student-parent-teacher interviews (portfolio presentations) are held twice a year, once in every semester. In portfolio presentations, students explain their work to their families throughout the semester and thus have the opportunity to take responsibility for their development. The portfolio works that our students will carry out throughout their academic life are also an important archive in the process of admission to foreign universities.

CONSULTING SYSTEM

The purpose of the Counselling System we apply at secondary and high school levels is to play a preventive role in order to prevent the problem-free areas of the student from becoming a problem and to play a guiding role in situations of instability caused by excess of options. In addition, while providing programmatic support for our students to set forward goals and achieve these goals, we also follow their developments in physical, emotional, social, and academic fields and become a part of the solution to the problems they experience. The fact that each mentor is responsible for a small number of students contributes positively to the success of the system.
