The Psychological Guidance and Counselling Department of TED Bodrum College Private Anatolian High School prepares and implements programmes to enable all students to recognise and improve their own individual characteristics in academic, emotional, social and behavioural fields of development.
Our Guidance Unit embraces the “Comprehensive Developmental Guidance Approach” designated by the Turkish Education Association.
The Comprehensive Developmental Guidance Approach covers educational, professional, individual and group guidance activities. Guidance services constitute a complementary part of the training and education programmes of the school. Our programme is shaped around self-recognition, self-expression, emotional recognition, connections between emotions and thoughts in behaviours, target setting and realisation, and consideration of consequences of choices. Our students gain such skills as effective communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and dispute resolution.
The most important task of the guidance service of our high school is vocational guidance. The guidance service of the high school implements a number of inventory studies to identify the vocational inclinations of students. The data obtained from such inventory studies are utilised to guide students in their career choices and to direct them to the most suitable universities.
Our guidance department organises meetings and seminars for parents as well as students and informs them on the process.
